According to the most recently released polls, there is an “uptick in support for impeachment”.

2. What did YouGov and the Economist find that most Americans feel about the president's actions?
YouGov and the Economist found that,” 52 percent of Americans said it is inappropriate for the president to request a foreign government [to] open an investigation into a potential political opponent”. 

3. What did that same poll find about American attitudes toward the president if he withheld funding to the Ukraine?

The same poll found that 62 percent of Americans thought that was inappropriate.

4. What change in attitudes did the Quinnipiac poll find?

It found that overall there was a 5-percent-point increase favoring impeachment, and among Democrats, there was a 12-percent-point increase.

5. What is important about the time frame in which the poll was conducted?

The poll was started on September 19,and that was a day before the Wall Street Journal’s article that outlined the President’s actions.

6. What recent related events are not accounted for in the results of these polls?

Speaker Pelosi’s Impeachment Inquiry announcement was not accounted for in these polls. Also, the memo of the call between President Zelensky and President Trump had not been released.


7. According to these polls, how many Americans are not paying attention to these developments?

According to a Marist poll, “32 percent of Americans said they were not closely following the news about the impeachment inquiry”.

8. What do other polls say about the current state of the race to be the Democratic nominee?
The other polls suggest that Sen. Warren has made headway as the first choice of a myriad of voters. Another poll suggested that Senator Warren is in a tie with Former Vice President Biden.

FiveThirtyEight/Ipsos found the most approval (54%).  The  Monmouth poll found the most opposition (48%). 3.
