Additionally,ensuring that liberty was protected was important to them. They promoted their ideas by sponsoring academia and founded libertarian organizations. Furthermore, they gave millions of dollars to Republican candidates. 2. How did the Koch family become wealthy? Fred C. Koch, their father, established an oil refinery company, and Charles Koch amplified it to another level. This propelled Charles and David to be some of the richest people in the world. 3.
